The Interview: How To Register, Reschedule, And Attending The Interview
Common Issues During An Interview
You can visit Zoom’s website for troubleshooting resources including how-to videos: https://zoom.us/resources.
Audio is not working: make sure your volume is turned up. You can select your audio source at the beginning when you first open Zoom. You can change the audio source once you are in your Zoom room by clicking the arrow beside the “Mute” button. You can check that your audio component is correct in your audio settings on your computer (please confirm this in advance; there are plenty of third-party resources online to assist you).
The mic is not working: when you open zoom, you must select your audio source and mic source. You can also test these before entering the meeting. Please make sure to select and test your mic before the meeting begins. If you need to select a different input source during the meeting, you can click the arrow beside the “Mute” button.
My video doesn’t show me: click “Start Video” when you enter the room. You can select your video source and see your video settings by clicking the arrow next to “Start Video”.
What is the interview and what does it involve?
Your interview is an important part of your registration. This short online video interview will be a time for you to meet us and us to meet you. We will cover your profile and how the platform works including some important information for you to be aware of.
Please note: due to popular demand, you have 7 days to sign up for an Interview. Unfortunately, we will need to deactivate your account if you don’t sign up by then. If you selected an interview slot with your application then you are all set. Note that we only allow a single missed interview or you will be removed from the platform.
App
At the end of your application, you will be asked to choose an interview slot. Simply select a date and choose a time that works best for you using the buttons below the calendar.
You can adjust and view your interview time on the app by selecting the "Account" tab and then the "Interview". You will need to cancel your interview if you want to select a new interview time.
Desktop
To select an interview from the interview page after your application or in your logged-in account in the interview menu item, select a date using the calendar on the left then select a time slot in the interview slots that are available. Please make sure to add this to your calendar or make a note of your start time and day; we only allow a single missed interview or we will have to deactivate your account.
Changing or cancelling an interview
You can easily change your interview time by logging into your account and navigating to the “Interview” menu item. Cancel your currently scheduled interview and the screen will update to show you the calendar and open interview slots for you to register for a new one. Note that if you choose not to select a new interview slot, you will have 7 days to do so or your account will be deactivated due to popular demand.
Attending an interview

- We conduct interviews with up to two individuals at a time - if you notice another zenGiver on the line when you join - don't be shy!
- Part of the interview will focus on your profile. To ensure you're ready to dive in: log into your zenGiver account and select Profile Page. Please have this filled out accurately in advance.

After your interview
After your interview, your interviewer will submit a background check on your behalf. These checks have a very short turnaround time of about five seconds. The result will either notify us of the need for further investigation or you will be automatically cleared. In the case that further investigation is needed, we may ask that you submit an additional background check with Checkr Background which has a 5-7 business day turnaround.
You may still have additional steps to complete before your profile goes live. Your interviewer may discuss these with you in advance, however, you can always view your completed steps in your logged in account on your profile page with the “Next Steps” button.
